My 2010 NFL Mock Draft (4-18-10). This will probably change by Thursday.
1. St. Louis
Sam Bradford – QB – Oklahoma
Bradford gets drafted over the more talented Suh because of his position.
2. Detroit
Russell Okung – OT – Oklahoma State
Okung is a “need” guy because they need to protect Stafford.
3. Tampa Bay
Ndamukung Suh – DT – Nebraska
He should’ve been the #1 selection and Tampa will love him.
4. Washington
Gerald McCoy – DT – Oklahoma
He is has been in the spot light all his career and that won’t change in the nations capital.
5. Kansas City
Bryan Bulaga – OT – Iowa
Protect your quarterback and open holes for Charles and Jones.
6. Seattle
Eric Berry – S – Tennessee
Coach Carroll makes a smart selection with his first pick as GM/coach. He doesn’t get to celebrate because he has another pick tonight.
7. Cleveland
Derrick Morgan – DE/OLB – Georgia Tech
Cleveland misses out on Berry and tries to move out of #7. If they can’t then they take Morgan.
8. Oakland
Trent Williams – OT – Oklahoma
He’s the third Sooner in the first 8 picks and many believe he’s the best out of the 3.
9. Buffalo
Anthony Davis – OT – Rutgers
That’s 4 OT’s in the first 9 picks. They need to run the ball in the cold of Buffalo, New York.
10. Jacksonville
Jason Pierre-Paul – DE – South Florida
This team would rather make picks that sell tickets (luxury boxes) then make them for wins. Although Pierre-Paul is a good pick.
11. Denver (f/Chi)
Dez Bryant – WR – Oklahoma State
Dez can thank Deion Sanders for losing him around 10 million dollars. Out goes a diva and in comes a diva.
12. Miami
Dan Williams – DT/NT – Tennessee
The NT in the 3-4 defense is very important because Williams is not worth this selection.
13. San Francisco
Joe Haden – CB – Florida
Haden can play right away and flourish where no one in Florida will watch him.
14. Seattle (f/Den)
CJ Spiller – RB – Clemson
Seattle got the best safety and the best running back in this draft.
15. New York Giants
Rolando McClain – LB – Alabama
He will be the leader of the G-Men defense for a long time.
16. Tennessee
Everson Griffen – DE – USC
This is a big “need” pick.
17. San Francisco
Taylor Mays – S - USC
San Francisco needed a tackle but none are worth this pick. So go get a talented hitting safety.
18. Pittsburgh
Mike Iupati – G – Idaho
Massive guard to shore up a bad O-line. Jimmy Clausen?
19. Atlanta
Brandon Graham – DE – Michigan
His senior bowl put him in the first round.
20. Houston
Earl Thomas – S – Texas
Thomas stays in Texas and has to defend against Peyton Manning twice every year.
21. Cincinnati
Jermaine Gresham – TE – Oklahoma
Cincinnati isn’t scared about his year off with a knee injury.
22. New England
Jared Odrick – DE – Penn State
New England is used to getting players without recognition and making them all-pros.
23. Green Bay
Kyle Wilson – CB – Boise State
Wilson will add youth to an aged secondary.
24. Philadelphia
Patrick Robinson – CB – Florida State
Replaces the departed Sheldon Brown
25. Baltimore
Brian Price – DT – UCLA
He could play NT or DE in Baltimore.
26. Arizona
Sean Witherspoon – LB – Missouri
They lost Carlos Dansby and need to fill his spot.
27. Dallas
Maurkice Pouncey – C - Florida
Dallas could trade out of this position if a team wants to jump up from the second round to take Jimmy Clausen. It happened when Cleveland did it for Brady Quinn.
28. San Diego
Ryan Mathews – RB – Fresno State
Mathews played in the west coast and not at USC so no one ever heard of him. They will know him after his rookie season.
29. New York Jets
Sergio Kindle – OLB – Texas
Is it possible that the J-E-T-S fans cheer for two straight years? Will the crowd be awake?
30. Minnesota
Jimmy Clausen – QB – Notre Dame
Chalk this pick up to that fact that its 2am in New York and no one learns of this pick until the morning. He will have been traded to another team by then. (Buffalo?)
31. Indianapolis
Charles Brown – OT – USC
A janitor made this pick after wondering into the war room were the Colts brass are sleeping on Peyton Manning pillow cases.
32. New Orleans
Terrence Cody – DT – Alabama
If they do this again they need to start the draft around 5PM EST. NO ONE CARES at 2AM.
